The Needle is CIMEA’s student-run publication dedicated to elevating student voices and promoting thoughtful analysis on key issues facing the Middle East and North Africa. Featuring opinion pieces, research articles, interviews, and commentary, The Needle empowers emerging scholars to engage critically with regional affairs and contribute meaningfully to the public discourse.
CIMEA Chapters
By establishing a chapter with CIMEA, students can create a hub for civil discourse, cultural understanding, and academic exploration related to Middle East affairs on their own campus. Each chapter serves as a platform for student leadership, hosting events and facilitating conversations that connect global issues to local student engagement.
National Seminars
CIMEA’s national seminars bring together students, scholars, and policy professionals for immersive discussions on the most pressing issues shaping the Middle East. These gatherings provide participants with direct access to expert insights, networking opportunities, and a deeper understanding of regional dynamics.
Leadership Training
CIMEA’s leadership training programs are designed to develop the skills, confidence, and global awareness necessary for students to lead with purpose in international affairs. Through interactive workshops, mentorship, and strategic simulations, participants gain practical experience in diplomacy, negotiation, and policy development.

As the region rapidly evolves, this organization aims to provide America’s future foreign policy leaders - students - with access to enlightening discussions, Middle-East experts, and opportunities to learn why the Middle East exists as it does and explore future pathways in the field by participating today.
